Once in a Blue Moon

This is a personal project recording London’s lesser-known rivers and canals.

These watery routes mark a physical boundary in the landscape but also a territorial dividing line in a city environment.

Far removed from the surrounding streets, these undisturbed places have many species of plants and wildlife not found elsewhere in the urban environment.

I’m photographing the landscape, the people living on the water, those using the towpaths and traces of their activity. The changing seasons have a marked effect on the landscape and the lives of the boat dwellers where summer and winter provide a huge contrast.
